Rare original vintage 1932 electric art deco calendar skyscraper clock. This has been on display in my fathers home for years. Now its looking for a new home. Tested and running smooth and quiet It features a beautiful marbled butterscotch catalin bakelite case, a large face, rolling hands, along with day and date calendar display Made by Bond Electric Corp Jersey City, New Jersey Manufactured 1930s Serial #1083 Amazing condition for its age and very well cared for (see photos) Very clean No rust Glass is clear Case surface is smooth All edges and corners look good No chips Nice cord Still has the brass tag on the back. Nothing is loose or rattles. Only known issue: The single-piece catalin case has a few very tight hairline cracks in some of the veins but they don’t effect its function or take away from its beauty. This is typical of this model because the original designers did not leave adequate space between the case and the clock to account for possible case shrinkage over time. This clock runs on electric but is a “spin to start” model. The spin-start electric movements was made by Hammond. Directions to get it rolling are on the rear. First plug the clock in, then push in the left rear dial, spin and let go. Just make sure you spin it the correct direction. The other dial turns the hands to set the time. Its heavy – weighs in at 4 lbs Height 7″ Length 6.75″ (at base) Depth 2.627. From a smoke free/pet free/healthy home.
