For sale is a vintage art deco period electric catalin digital clock. It is in the shape of a radio and measures about 8.75″ by 5″ by 2 5/8. The color is a marbleized brown with wisps of lighter tones, perhaps oranges and yellows? No idea who the maker is? When plugged in you can hear the motor run but the numbers do not move so the clock does not currently work. One entire wheel of numbers (the minutes) seem to be missing and the cord/plug may have. The catalin body is in very good shape cosmetically with normal wear, as pictured. It has not been polished so if you do so the fantastic colors and textures will’pop’ even more! As far as damage the last 4 pictures show the extent of it that I can identify and this includes: 1 a crack on the bottom edge (pic #10); a very slight crack below the hole for the cord (pic #11); a minor chip on the top front left edge (pic #12) and finally 4 2 holes on the top. Now it seems the 2 holes might be factory but one of the holes is more’ knarly’. Perhaps the holes supported some sort of structure like a handle or decoration? The catalin is absolutely gorgeous like a’churning phenol supernova’! I think this is what the universe looked like just moments after the Big-Bang!!!
