This beautiful mid-1940s Seth Thomas electric clock chimes the hour and half hour, and keeps great time! The chime mechanism is actually a wind up, so if you don’t want the chimes, just don’t wind them. The directions on the inside of the back door are in great shape and quite readable. The case shows very little sign of wear, especially for its age. There are a couple of small insignificant nicks that aren’t even noticeable from a few feet away. The glass is in great shape with no visible scratches. The original rubber cord shows some signs of fatigue, but it’s in more than good enough shape to still use. The wonderful Art Deco starburst design with a half-octagonal base is an amazing nod to the period from which this clock originates. Such is true with all old clocks though, I suppose. It runs basically silent, though if you were in a very quiet room, you might hear the motor humming. Please reach out to me if you have questions or would like more photos, or even a video of it running with the chimes, etc… Thanks for stopping by! Dimensions: 14” wide, 5” deep, 8.5” tall.
