This unique Telechron motored clock was rescued from a dreary dark closet. It didn’t run because of a bad motor, the brass was severely tarnished and the original dark plastic bakelite base was missing and replaced with a featureless dark brown pine seat. The clock was cleaned, adjusted and lubricated and the brass hands and bezel were polished and coated with a metal product designed to preserve the bright shine and prevent future tarnishing. The rotor (motor) was replaced and an antique style twisted wire cord and plug were installed. It has been tested for a week and it keeps accurate time. There is very little information available online regarding this art deco clock. There seems to be no information about its exact year of production, the designer or how many of these were made. The H67 and H69 were produced in 1954-55 so I believe this H68 was probably also manufactured during 1954-55. This clock is extremely rare and is the first I’ve ever seen during my 27 years of clock work. The clock face is 5 3/4 inches wide and overall it stands 7 1/4 inches tall by 6 3/4 inches wide. Although this clock is not with its original base I’ve created a very eye catching exotic wood base that will add a touch of class to your home’s decor or antiques collection.
