Condition report: clock shows expected age and damages, metal parts and glass may shows some scratches or oxidation, also shows dust and some stains. Note: clock is NOT functional. We tried to wound it and it was possible but clock makes just very fast move with hands, hands also move inside – they are not stable. Due these facts we recommend to new owner service it by specialist. Kienzle Uhren GmbH is one of the oldest German watchmakers. The company was founded in 1822 in Schwenningen. By German watchmaker Johann Schlenker and his sons Christian-Johann and Erhard under the name Deutsche Uhrenfabrik. By 1900, Kienzle was already producing pocket watches, clocks, regulators, watches mostly for women and the first speedometers used in the nascent automobile industry. Kienzle also introduced the first fully automatic stamping clock, which was soon used in thousands of factories around the world. In 1931, he presented the so-called Strapazier-Armbanduhr, which became a very popular product thanks to their robust construction and sales of over 25 million pieces. A year later, he develops an eight-day flight clock for the cockpit. After the Second World War, the company produced, among other things, parking meters called Volksautomatik. In the sixties of the 20th century, Kienzle is the leading company on the German market. In 1972, he launched the first ever solar-charged quartz watch, the Heliomat. Since then, the main office has been in Hamburg. The company buys worldwide sales and distribution rights, begins to develop and produce three new watch collections in different price categories with the Kienzle 1822 brand (Wiki).
