Unusual & Interesting c. 1930 German Deco Nickeled Metal Streamline Alarm Clock
INTERESTING DIAMOND SHAPE’30s GERMAN DECO ALARM CLOCK. This noteworthy timepiece is from my personal collection of clocks curated since 1972. Commencing with apprenticeship to a European master clock and watchmaker through high school graduation, freshmen year of college and remainder of the 1970s, I sensitively restored clocks of all types; opening service and sales showrooms in the western suburbs of Chicago. Streamline Deco design with bowed crystal, matte silvered dial with stylized hour markers, pierced steel hands w luminescent fill. LOUD alarm sets from the rear. Movement cover stamped D. The clock presents attractively and is in good running order. I completely disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned and rinsed the movement in waterless solutions, checked for wear, reassembled and lubricated with high-grade Swiss oil. Mainspring was removed from the barrel, cleaned and lubricated with grease. Hands, dial, crystal and the case were cleaned; nickel plating polished to high luster. Meticulous restoration should provide reliable operation for years. Please review descriptive information and study the photographs for details. I’m available to answer any and all questions / concerns. PS: French, German, Swiss and British Deco clocks depicted in the final photograph are destined for sale through Select and Superior.
