Rare American Art Deco Limited Edition Wooden Cased Vgoue Electric Desk Clock
This rare American Art Deco Vgoue precision electric clock was manufactured in 1945 by the precision instrument firm of Gray Research & Development Labs of Bristol Connecticut. The name Vgoue is correct and not a typo by Decollect! The production run was limited to just 600 units of which this example is numbered # 517. The streamlined case is constructed out of glued matched maple and beech woods, the window in unbreakable plastic and the original silk wrapped cord has its original Bakelite plug. Both the face and hands are a graphic triumph of Art Deco design and are in incredible condition. The full story and attributes of the clock are printed on the original strip of paper that is affixed to the underside of the clock chassis. The clock’s number in the edition of 600 is also on this strip of paper hand written in red ink. This rare and all original vintage clock, together with its precision movement, has been professionally overhauled, is working well and quietly!!
