Antique Art Deco Lavender Glass Smiths Mantel Clock English 1930’s. For sale is a wonderful. Antique Art Deco Smiths Mantel or Shelf Clock in lavender glass in an arched shape with incised design and a polished edge, sitting on a machine age style heavy brass base. The convex glass bezel is secured with 3 brass screws, and it has period stylized numerals and clock hands. The 5.5mm thick glass sits in 2 slots in the brass base, felt attached to bottom of base. The reverse is marked Smiths, Made in England. Lock mechanism is not working, and no attempts have been made to repair. Original condition with 2 unnoticeable flakes on back of glass edge (see last 3 photos for enlarged detail – 2 of the photos show front/back views). Tands approx 7″ tall, base is 6″ wide by 2-1/4 deep. Really beautiful, hard to find clock. He photos contain reflections from interior lights and windows. Comes from a non-smoking home.
