This must have been in an important office or area. Truly one of a kind. I have never seen a USNO mantle clock. All of the USNO Chelseas I have ever seen are more utilitarian models. As you likely know, the USNO is the branch of government tasked with keeping accurate time, its no wonder they counted on Chelsea for their own timekeeping needs. The Tambour case is original and in great condition for its age. The dial has been professionally restored by Chelsea. The movement has been disassembled, cleaned, adjusted and serviced.
