1940s Lackner Neon Glow Clock The “Sultan” with ivory Plaskon Bakelite case This highly decorative clock is extremely rare and in very displayable condition. It has a neon tube inside the case surrounding the face which can be turned on or off using a switch on the rear panel. When off, the 12 Catalin jewels surrounding the face appear to be dark amber in color but when the light is on they glow bright orange. The neon also illuminates the clock face giving it a halo effect. Condition: Clock movement does NOT work but is present inside The neon works awesome with no flickering or humming Case is amazing – no stress cracks or chips or fleabites Catalin “jewels” fit tight and have no cracks or chips Cardboard clock face is very clean with minimal spotting Glass bubble lens is clear with no cracks Beautiful two tone reverse painted numbers on glass are crisp with no paint loss except on the “6” (see photos) Brass bezel has a nice uniform patina The textured front mount which holds the jewels is excellent with only minimal scuffing where it meets the case Metal Art Deco skyscraper hands are straight with no corrosion 8.5 foot long cord with ivory Bakelite plug is in excellent condition All 4 rubber feet are present and in good shape. Metal rear cover has some paint loss and is missing a screw. Lackner Neon Clock name plaque is present and easy to read.
