Restored, Ebonised, Beautiful Napoleon-hat Westminster Chiming 8-day Mantel Clock, KEY, Pendulum and GWO. This giant mahogany-cased Napoleon-hat antique clock was neatly restored and ebonised to a shiny condition, and the movement was completely overhauled. It ticks neatly and keeps good time. The large Westminster Chiming 8-day movement is believed to be made in the 20-30s in Germany. It is a quality clock in great working order, producing quartly musical chimes via 5 chiming rods. The clock has an appealing case, with a typical Napoleon-hat feature. Finely carved patterns at the front and at both sides of the bottom, just below the dial. Equipped with a fully overhauled original large and heavy bronze movement, the clock now ticks strongly and keeps good time. The case has been restored, ebonised and waxed to bring it back to life. From the front, a shiny chrome-plated, 6 inch bezel front door fitted with the original convex glass protects the silvered circular dial, which shows signs of wear that formed during decades of use. The dial has large blackened Roman numerals and minutes marks to show the time, using two black heart-shaped steel hands pointing to the hour and minutes. The movement has been ultrasonically overhauled and necessary repairs were carried out (see photos). It now ticks nicely, is in good working order and keeps good time. The 4 hammers strike the bronze bars at each quarter of the hours to play Westminster chimes, plus the corresponding number of strikings at the full hours using three hammers. The chime can be silenced easily by flicking the small lever inside the dial, just above 12 OClock position. The case, convex glass, dial, bezel, and rear door are all in excellent antique condition, consistant with its age. The clock has an impressive size, which measures 17 inch wide, 9 inch tall and 6 inch thick, which is 44 cm x 23 cm x 15 cm. Please look at the photos for signs of tears and wears on the dial and cases, which form an essential part of the description, however nothing is major to distract from its gorgeous attraction. The clock comes with a large antique bronze-steel winding key, the original gilt pendulum, and it is in excellent working order. I will pack the clock as careful as possible to make sure it arrives safely, also I will include a general guidance helping to set up the pendulum. Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
