Art Deco Clock Set. French – Circa 1925. Excellent condition, fully overhauled. A superb and rare Art Deco clock set featuring a beautiful sculpture of a girl holding a stylised dove, an allegory of innocence. She is modelled in patinated metal, coloured gold and grey/blue. The case and side pieces are veneered in faux tortoiseshell, with geometric pyramid shaped faux mother of pearl accents to the corners. The dial is matted gold screen printed with stylised elongated numerals and complete with it’s original square form blued steel hands. It is signed for the retailer. The French movement is of high quality and is by. It is a traditional. Movement with a pendulum. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, the celluloid veneer is very good with a couple areas of slight lifting or marks. There is some slight shrinkage at the base of one side piece. The original finish of the metal work has worn and faded to a lovely patina over time. The glass has been replaced at some time.
