Inclined plane clock base. Coolest one on the planet (by far compared to any of the other ones I have looked at in my extensive research – may be just my opinion, but it’s pretty evident to me). Blows’em all away. If You have seen another one like it, let me know. Hard to say what the monetary value is, because there’s nothing to go on, as it’s probably the only one. I mean, what did the last one of these (with or without the clock) sell for? I can’t imagine this being made in any sort of multiple quantity, and it seems logical and “fits the bill” as a “one off” show piece, such as a presentation piece to a Dignitary, King, Queen, etc. Possibly one of someone’s prized possessions brought back as WWII booty? IDK, just a possibility due to the chaotic circumstances of that time period, but maybe the clock got separated then and was simply just left behind due to ignorance on the subject, as most people have never seen or heard of these. Without the clock (or experience on the subject), it would not be instantly apparent to anyone what this is. I had a conversation with someone quite knowledgeable about antique clocks in general, and his educated guess is that this was made by Gubelin, circa 1920’s. Some of the engraving is basically identical to a known Gubelin one (there are pictures of that one on the net). My base is over 2-1/2 feet long, and weighs over 28 lbs.
