Have nothing in your houses that you do not consider to be beautiful or useful. French Art Deco Brass Swivel Clock on Marble Base by DEP 1931. A beautiful, very stylized square brass framed clock set a square green marble base with brass columns allowing it to be swiveled. It was made by DEP a well-known French clockmaker in the Haute-Savoie region who excelled in art deco styled clocks between the two world wars. The numbers font on the face of the clock is squarish, very characteristic DEP styling with a pear-shaped hours hand. This model dates from 1931. All of the knobs, hardware and winders are present and original. The clock and alarm work well and it keeps time correctly. The alarm turnoff button is located on the top, between the decorative handle. The clock mechanism case measures 2 inches by 2 inches and 1 3/8 inches deep. The green marble base measures 3 ΒΌ inches square and 7/8 inches thick. It is in very good condition with a few tiny nibbles around the edges, hardly visible and a very small chip on a top corner. Very solid, it weighs 1.3 lbs. It is an elegant, very Art Deco clock that would look handsome on a desk or on a night table and 1930s DEP clocks are increasingly difficult to find in very good condition as they have become very collectable. Lease read before purchasing. Vintage and antique objects have lived and been used and because of that, they sometimes show it.
