Most were acquired from collector estates and have been in my display cabinet. They may or may not operate correctly as these are nearly 80 year old fine display examples. From an old 1938 Ronson ad describing this piece: One of the finest combinations ever offered. A handsome, ample and substantial desk or table combination, featuring modern-classic lines. Clock has a highly dependable 8-day movement and a large, legible, rectangular dial; the Touch-Tip lighter has a large fuel capacity, requiring filling only once in several months. The model is finished in Copper-Bronze, in two-tone effect. White dial is finished in two-tone silver with black numerals. Cummings’ Ronson book regarding this item: “Much rarer than other T-T clocks”. With regard to this item, the Ronson Touch Tip 8 Day Clock in two-tone copper and bronze finish first manufactured in 1937. A great example of art deco design. Very few nicks considering it’s 80 year age. Noticeable scuffing on the front of the base however it looks to be part of the finish as some paint is missing yet the finish is shiny, smooth and unmarked. I really can’t explain why it looks as it does. Mechanism operates correctly but no spark. At one time I wound it fully and it operated until it unwound. Did it run 8 days or lose time? I never checked as it went into my cabinet. I just recently I gave it a few turns and it ran fine. If you plan on running this on a regular basis I would have it cleaned and adjusted first. Please examine my photos carefully. This is a very heavy piece weighing over 4 pounds. 6 3/4″L X 3″W X 5H.
