Art Deco Machine Age Chrome Nickel Brass Lawson Zephyr Electric Clock Model 304
1930’s Art Deco styled electric clock, made by Lawson Time Inc. This is officially called the “Zephyr”, model P40, style 304. Ok, I’m not out to fool anybody, so here’s what I did to the clock- The case was originally the oxidized copper version but the finish was in bad condition. I had the case plated in a new nickel finish (not chrome), and just polished the brass trim and button feet. Nothing is sprayed with lacquer. The clock did not work and the inside chassis and numbers were not worth fooling with. So, the celluloid dial cover, numbers, chassis, and motor are from another Lawson clock- model P40, style 217. The celluloid dial cover is clean and scratch free, the clock runs accurate and silent, and the paint on all the numbers is intact. The stripes are an off-white lacquer. I also added a brown woven cord and vintage Bakelite plug. I don’t have to plagiarize anything from the internet about Lawson clocks- if you want more info it’s out there. And no, this is not a KEM Weber design- a very very cool design however, just not his. Size: 8″L x 3.25″W x 3.5H.
