I have for sale a 1880s carriage clock made in France presented in the rare case style which contains ornate filigree work and chasing running around the entire clock. It is in stunning condition one of the best we have seen, made in France a very rare find these days. This clock was made by the Couillet family in France around 1920 total art-nouveau. The case/movement has been fully Ultra-Sonic cleaned, polished and re-built all hand polished hard to show on the photos. The case is in solid heavy brass in the rare serpentine style with small oval window, and stands 6.5 high x 3 wide with a depth of 2.5 it is in perfect condition with thick bevelled glass sides/front/back door and top viewing glass. This clock has the filigree and chasing work running around the clock and is in perfect condition a real stunner with the thick solid matching handle. The dial is in mint original condition in white porcelain with Arabic numerals all housed in a gilded mask , also the clock retains the original black ornate hands. The movement is an eight day time only; the movement has been fully ultra sonic cleaned new spring hand polished serviced and oiled so keeping great time over the eight days via the. Original jewelled platform escapement to the top. The key is included. Overall a very beautiful quality carriage clock that looks stunning on display and contains all of its original features this is quite a rare find these days made by a quality maker having just come to the market for the first time since 1880s.
