STUNNING ART DECO MINT GREEN GUILLOCHE ENAMEL & SOLID SILVER MANTEL CLOCK. This is a stunning Art Deco Mint Green Guilloche Enamel and Solid Silver Mantel Clock, craftedc by the highly sought after Silversmiths A L Daventport, this wonderful clock was Assayed in Birmingham in 1928 making it over 90 years old, as you can see the Mint Green Enamel is in wonderful condition with no wear or chips at all, the base of this Art Deco Mantel Clock you will see it has a raised circular base which is crafted in solid silver and then has the most wonderful Mint Green Guilloche Enamel Banding which contrast’s beautifully against the smooth silver base, the centre of the base raises up in a solid silver stem which in turn has a wonderful solid silver frame which allows you to tilt the clock face to whatever angle you wish, the clock face is stunning the face itself is a wonderful cream colour with black hands and numerals, to the bottom it says swiss made which is for the clock movement, this is then framed again with wonderful Mint Green Guilloche Enamel and then framed in solid silver, this is so very elegant and shouts out art deco, it is timeless in its look, the base has a wooden finish which is a sign of fine quality, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb, this would have once belonged to a wealthy family and been used daily, it is so very tactile and once held has a wonderful feel, this just oouzes style and elegance from a time long past, my photos dont do it justice at all, this is not working and needs a service. The Enamel is wonderful as stated above, there are some dings and bruising which is to be expected and the face is slightly off centre, that being said it doesnt detract at all from its rare beauty, just mentioned for accuracy.
