Outstanding Art Deco 400 Day – Anniversary Clock by Shlenker & Posner! This art deco era anniversary clock was manufactured in Germany by the Shlenker and Posner company in the 1930’s. The clock is chrome plated and is in excellent condition… About as good as you will ever find for a timepiece this old. The dial is as good as you will find… Applied chromed numerals on an off-white background and surrounded by a chromed bezel! The chromed pendulum is perfect! The dome is the thick, heavy original style and we think is probably original to the clock. The clock has run for the 8-10 years that we have owned it. You will be hard pressed to find another one like this in such outstanding condition. For the collectors, this is plate 1559 in the Horolovar Repair Guide. The Guide incorrectly attributes the clock to “The National Silver Company” and dating it to 1912. However, contemporary horological historians attributed it to Shlenker & Posner and date it to the 1930’s. It is obviously art deco, so 1930’s is almost a given.
