This is a beautiful architecturally designed Swiss Art Deco mechanical eight-day Desk/ Mantel clock. It has its original chrome plate to both the front and back which is in excellent condition. It has lovely bevel edged glass. The ridges of the tower have a blue colour that looks amazing when the light catches it. This clock has Swiss 8 day movement. The body and framework were made in London and the base is marked “343 LONDON MADE CASE GLADIATOR”. The clock face shows signs of age as can be seen in the photographs. The chrome body is in excellent condition. There are no cracks or damage to the glass. The clock is in working order and runs and keeps reasonably good time for over a week, losing about 5 – 10mins over that period. The pins attaching the clock to the framework need tightened. As with most clocks of this age, it but would benefit from a professional clean and service. L – 14.5cm. Rt Deco design of this clock make it a true classic that is increasingly rare and hard to find. It is a real statement piece that would look fantastic in any home or office.
