One of the most desirable clocks from the heyday of the 1930s Machine Age, Art Deco era. _________ Electric Neon Clock Co. Of Cleveland, Ohio, Machine Age Hexagonal Art Deco Two-tone Neon Clock. A rare perfectly working and cosmetically original example. Excellent Art Deco face, “skyscraper” style minute and hour hands, and galvanized steel case. Neon light operates by an attached pull chain which turns on/off neon while clock is running. Note that there are two red neon lights – one external and the other internal. Clock has commercial grade S-hooks for secure hanging, or it can stand on its own. Clock runs on standard AC electric current. For approximately 50 years, this clock was displayed in the storefront window of a sporting goods store in Cranford, New Jersey, right next door to the Cranford, New Jersey transit train depot station. The clock was a staple of the station as people rushing to catch a train could easily see the time as they approached the train station. Period: 1930s Art Deco. Place of Origin: Cleveland, Ohio, U.
